Penumbra Theatre Company's Study Guide Library is meant to provide patrons with erudite reading material on the plays we present during our main-stage season. Each guide includes a brief overview on the history of African American Theatre, a synopsis of the play, dramaturgical notes, contextual essays, critical thought on methodology, interviews with the playwrights and directors, statements and renderings from the creative design team, references for further research and tools for teaching.
