Penumbra Company members James Williams and John Earl Jelks are on Broadway, performing in August Wilson’s Radio Golf!
 Radio Golf was the last script in Wilson’s 10-play cycle chronicaling the experience of blacks in America during the 20th century. The script is set in the 1990s and involves developers who are looking to tear down the house of Aunt Esther, an iconic, recurring character in the cycle.
Jelks was last seen on Broadway in Gem of the Ocean and here at Penumbra in Joe Turner’s Come and Gone.
Williams performed in Wilson’s first professional production, Black Bart and the Sacred Hills at Penumbra. Williams also performed in Penumbra’s productions of Jitney in 1984 and 2000, Two Trains Running, King Hedley II, Seven Guitars and Fences.
