Shay Youngblood
Shay Youngblood is a playwright, novelist, and visual artist and author of the novels Soul Kiss, Black Girl in Paris and two collections of short stories. Her short stories have been performed at Symphony Space and recorded for National Public Radio’s Selected Shorts. Her published plays, have been widely produced. Her awards include several NAACP Theater Awards include, a Lorraine Hansberry Playwriting Award and a Sustained Achievement in the Arts Award from the New York Foundation for the Arts. During a 2011 residency in Japan sponsored by the NEA and the US Japan Friendship Commission, she researched a project on the subject of architecture and memory. She was the 2013 Dallas Museum of Art, Writer in Residence and is a Yaddo Artist Colony board member. www.shayyoungblood.com
