ABOUT THE EVENT
Ruth Negga and Joel Edgerton star in this intimate portrayal of real life couple Richard and Mildred Loving, an interracial couple who were sentenced to prison in Virginia in 1958 for getting married. Exiled to Washington, D.C., they decided to sue the state of Virginia leading to the Supreme Court’s unanimous decision that laws prohibiting interracial marriage are unconstitutional.
