ABOUT THE EVENT

Lou Bellamy will place the work of August Wilson into conversation with Penumbra’s signature aesthetic, honed from more than twenty years of directing Wilson’s work. Master class participants will be introduced to the breadth and depth of Wilson’s writing through this lecture exploring the playwright’s seminal texts. Featuring performed excerpts of Wilson’s works by seasoned company members. This class is ideal for anyone interested in a behind-the-scenes look at the making of an August Wilson play from one of the foremost interpreters of his work. Open to all ages and interests; no theatre experience required.
