Master Class for Artists: Directing August Wilson with Lou Bellamy

Lou Bellamy will place the work of August Wilson into conversation with Penumbra’s aesthetic and his own directing technique, honed from more than twenty years of directing Wilson’s work. This interactive class will focus on Bellamy’s approach to directing, black theater, and the work of August Wilson. He will be joined by Penumbra Company members as he dissects the rhythm and reason of August Wilson’s work. This class is ideal for the working artist or beginning to advanced theatre students interested in Wilson’s work and Penumbra’s signature approach.
