Master Class for Artists: A Cultural Approach to Text with Lou Bellamy
ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE
Lou Bellamy will use August Wilson’s Seven Guitars to discuss how to authentically represent culturally specific texts. Using Penumbra’s signature aesthetic, honed from more than twenty years of directing Wilson’s plays, Bellamy will guide students in an in-depth text analysis and an overview of techniques on approaching these works. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn best practices from one of the foremost interpreters of Wilson’s work. This class is ideal for the working artist or beginning to advanced theatre students interested in Penumbra’s signature approach.
