This dynamic curriculum for teens blends social justice education, somatic practices, and improvisational theater to build confidence and authentic self-expression. Through body-centered exercises and improv games, students explore identity, empathy, privilege, resistance, and resilience in a supportive, interactive environment.
Somatic practices help students understand how the body holds emotion, memory, and experience. By noticing physical responses and practicing vulnerability in a creative setting, students deepen their understanding of their own identities, examine assumptions and biases, and gain insight into others’ lived experiences.
The curriculum strengthens confidence through creativity and collaboration. Students practice speaking, listening, and responding with intention while developing skills in allyship and anti-racism. Together, they cultivate a respectful, inclusive space that honors every identity and empowers each student to recognize their voice, share their story, and contribute to positive change.
Registration: $750 for three weeks; scholarships available
