Michael Jerome Francis

Michael Jerome Francis joined the Penumbra team in November 2020. Michael appreciates the value of the arts as a source of healing and community-building and has focused much of his 20-year career serving the BIPOC theatre community. Prior to his time at Penumbra, Michael served as the Senior Artistic & International Programs Associate at Theatre Communications Group, administering scholarships, grants and professional development initiatives awarded to early- and mid-career theatre professionals. Michael holds a BA of Fine Arts from the Massachusetts College of Art & Design, and he continues to express himself through various art forms, including fashion design, sculpture, and painting. He’s also a DJ.
